There is strong evidence to suggest that Israel is considering a pre-emptive strike against Iran to halt its nuclear ambitions, amid suspicions that it is exploiting its civil nuclear programme as a cover to produce atomic weapons. Iran's current President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad quoted Ayatollah Khomeini's call for Israel to be removed from the pages of history, it's unlikely that Israel will just wait for them to aquire the weapons to achieve this.
